Dive Site: Curtain Artificial Reef
Location: Inside Moreton Bay, Brisbane, Australia
Description: Series of wrecks clustered together
Depth: 14 - 30 metres (46 - 100 feet)
Visibility: 2 - 5 metres (6 - 15 feet)

A constantly shifting muddy seabed means that a lot of the wrecks here are buried. There are plenty that aren’t however and a few of the wrecks are sizeable. If you take compass bearings you can find your way between the wrecks otherwise you will soon loose your bearings in the poor visibility. There are a string of wrecks in a N-S direction but obviously you will need to know which wreck you are on and where others are in relation to it before you get in the water.
The lack of vis actually almost adds to this dive site – it makes it more of an adventure! You never quite know what fish you're going to come across in the gloom and it forces you to focus your attention into a smaller area. There is a good deal of life around as well: batfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, trevally, wrasse and grouper were all seen here. Inside the main wreck which the boat anchored to there was a huge Queensland Groper.
