Reader Reviews:

Dive Site: Swimming Pools

Location: Milln Reef, Cairns (16°47'S 146°15')

Description: Reef

Depth: 5 - 21 metres (16 - 69 feet)

Visibility: 15 - 20 metres (50 - 65 feet)

Rating: *****

A relaxing dive suitable for beginners and intermediate divers, popular for its abundance of fish life in the shallows. A dive amongst the coral outcrops and small 'bommies' over a sandy seabed. Average dive depth is about 10 metres. This is an excellent night dive location with sleeping turtles and barracudas sighted regularly.

When I dived at the Swimming Pools I saw a turtle which went to the surface before coming back down again to meet us. Around the outer bommie there was a nice gorgonian fan in the swim through. We finished the dive off at the reef wall.
