Scuba Diving in Sydney, Australia
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Shelly Beach, Cabbage Tree Bay Reserve
Location: Manly, Sydney
Description: Shore dive
Depth: 8 metres (26 feet)
Visibility: 10 - 15 metres (33 - 49 feet)
Rating: ***
This dive area can be explored as a shore dive, accessed from Shelly beach, Shelly harbour in Manly.
This is a good place for training and carrying out skills, also for general navigation training etc. The currents and swells are moderate, with average shore diving visibility. There is plenty of life to be found including Octopus, Sea dragons, Wobbegong sharks, Rays and Groupers. This site can also be a good night dive location, with life to be found under the rocky shoreline.

Is this possible to do in February? What is the average temperature?

According to water temp charts on Dive-Oz, the water in Manly ranges between 22C in summer (their January/February) to 15C in winter. I would imagine divers typically wearing at least 5mm wetsuits in summer and probably adding gloves, hoods and/or vests in winter, or perhaps semi-dry or drysuits.
