Scuba Diving in Mallorca
Dive Site: Andritxol
Location: Near Santa Ponsa, Mallorca
Description: Reef / wall
Depth: 0 - 23 metres (0 - 75 feet)
Visibility: 20 metres (65 feet)

Cap Andritxol is located just west of Santa Ponsa. The dive starts by entering the water at Andritxol's tip, then following the wall round so that you keep it on the left. Huge boulders are strewn all over the seabed, creating swimthroughs and caverns. Dense shoals of cardinalfish and damselfish flutter past and larger fish such as seabream, grunts and jacks dart in from the blue. There are also hunting barracuda in the open water and grouper perching on rocky pinnacles. Within the rocks you may also manage to spot octopus and moray eels. Towards the end of our dive here there was a slight current developing. This intensified in particularly exposed areas causing us to be swept past some of the boulders before being gently deposited on their calmer sides, which was great fun! Slowly make your way up the wall towards the end of the dive to finish what is a very scenic dive, full of life and the best of the Mallorcan dive sites featured here on dive site directory.
