Scuba Diving in Menorca
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Grand Canyons
Location: Near Cala Blanca, Menorca
Description: Shore dive
Depth: 5 - 20 metres (15 - 65 feet)
Visibility: 30 metres (100 feet)
Rating: ****
We start off with a jump from rocks into the sea and then drop to a depth of 5 to 6m and swim left into a large cavern. Right at the back about 50m in, is a halocline where fresh water meets salt, we then swim out of the cavern taking a letter box exit to our left and swim for 5 mins untill we reach a series of canyons and swim throughs. Fish life is quite good with sea bream a plenty. Lots of sea grass and rock formations dominate the Menorca underwater landscape and Grand Canyons is typical of this.
The dive finishes with a leisurely swim back to the shore over seagrass and boulders at a depth of 17m there is another cave with can be explored with ease and only goes back about 4 metres.
An easy dive although exit can be hard if choppy!
