This dive can cover two wrecks as they are in fairly close proximity to each other. Both wrecks lie in approximately 12m along the seabed across the reef and on the sandy seabed.
The Montana is a 236 foot paddlewheel steamer which sank in 1863, an elusive Civil War blockade runner which now lies on the seabed at about 12m depth. The wreck is now adorned with both hard and soft coral with swim-throughs and interesting photogenic paddlewheels. This is a really beautiful historic wreck.
The Constellation is a 200 foot American schooner built in 1918. In 1943 whilst carrying building materials, medicinal drugs and cases of scotch whiskey to Venezuela she went down on the north-west coast of Bermuda. The wreck litters the reef with cement packages with plenty of bottles scattered around and within the wreck. There is little wreckage to swim into so exploring is mainly rummaging through the interesting artefacts, which still remain. This wreck is probably most famous for being the film set for the 1970s classics diving film 'The Deep'. This site is a real historical dive site of good interest.

My wife and I did a series of dives with Blue Water Divers in 09 and 10, while our then 12yr old son completed his PADI certification, and then gained some experience. Many Bermuda shipwrecks are great for younger divers because of the program depth limits. BWD’s gave us a great level of comfort—very experienced and professional instructors. We saw these wrecks twice, diving with BWD’s, and once with Jesse James Inflatable Tour—this is a great snorkelling site too, where everyone can touch some history!
