Scuba Diving in Gran Canaria
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Mogan Wrecks
Location: Mogan, Gran Canaria
Description: Two wrecks
Length: 40 - 50 metres (130 - 165 feet)
Depth: 20 metres (65 feet)
Visibility: 15 - 20 metres (50 - 65 feet)
Rating: ****
We descended to the intact wreck, but our dive guide indicated to swim off, so we followed him across the sea bed for about 5 minutes and came across another broken up wreck, with a large shoal of roncadors, and some medregals on it. We spent about 5-10 minutes here before returning to the intact wreck. As we got back to it, we heard the engines of the local 'tourist submarine', and this then appeared out of the south and went past within about 10m of us, all the tourists taking flash photos of us. Despite the sub, the wreck seemed to have resident barracuda, trumpetfish, wrasse and parrotfish. Seeing a (moving) submarine underwater was a real thrill, but the wrecks were a bit small.
