Scuba Diving in Grenada Caribbean
Site: The Valleys
Location: Near Belmont, St Georges
Description: Reef / drift
Depth: 23 metres (75 feet)
Visibility: 20 metres (65 feet)
Rating: ***
This is a five-mile long reef that is connected to Spice Island Reef, Boss Reef, The Japanese Gardens and Northern Exposure. As the names suggests, this dive is made up of sandy valleys. The reef is made up of beautiful gorgonian fans, sponges, feather stars, sea rods and brain coral. Marine life includes wrasse, moray eels, sea horses, angelfish, boxfish, and cowfish.
Reader Reviews:
A slow cruising drift dive over the reef, the best way to dive it is to stay very close to the coral and hunt for small stuff while maintaining your buoyancy. Little nudibranchs, a snowflake eel, a number of lobsters and Christmas tree worms can all be found here. You will constantly see inquisitive smooth trunkfish and chequered cowfish that are playful and happily pose for photos.
