Scuba Diving in Tobago, Caribbean
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: The Cathedral
Location: West of Little Tobago
Description: Reef / drift
Depth: 31 metres (102 feet)
Visibility: 15 metres (50 feet)
Rating: ****
The Cathedral is a gently sloping reef, with fairly consistent currents. I dived it in two sections: the North and the South. At the north end I saw a great barracuda then made my way to what is alleged to be the largest brain coral in the world at over five metres in diameter. There were also angelfish, jellyfish and harlequin shrimps. On the south section I saw a stingray at 30 metres, a small sunfish, a grouper, harlequin shrimps and more barracuda. The topography was quite surreal with lots of sandy gullies.
