Scuba Diving in Tobago, Caribbean
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Japanese Gardens
Location: North of Goat Island, Speyside, Tobago
Description: Reef dive from a boat
Depth: 15 metres (50 feet)
Visibility: 10 metres (30 feet)
Rating: *****
You start this dive just off Goat Island and move over a reef covered with the most wonderful colours of coral and sponges. Halfway through the dive there is a rock passage to swim through and then the nature of the coral changes to rolling hills with tube sponges sticking through green coral. We saw fusiliers, morays, porkfish, butterflyfish, squirrelfish, French angelfish, trunkfish and hawkfish. Two divers diving there the day before had seen turtles but we didn't.
We dived in October 2006 and rain had made the visibility in the sea unusually poor - don't go in October!
