Scuba Diving Vomo Island, Fiji
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Rabbitfish Reef
Location: Vomo Island, Fiji
Description: Bommies and swim-throughs
Depth: 16 metres (52 feet)
Visibility: 20 metres (65 feet)
Rating: ****
The foxface rabbitfish is endemic to Fiji. Its Latin name is Siganus Uspi, after the university at which the researchers that discovered it were studying - University of the South Pacific (or USP). This reef is literally teeming with them (and I will get a photograph of them that I like one day!).
There are plenty of swim-throughs, lots of acropora and lots of other nice fish: harlequin and oriental sweetlips, two-spot snapper, Indian mackerel and at least five reef sharks.
