Dive Site: The Lighthouse

We anchored the boat and began our descent to a wall that starts from the most southerly point of Lefkas Island and continues out into the open sea. There is a mixture of the warm water from the bays and the cooler water from the open sea, which made it interesting every time you swam through a patch of cooler water! With the varying water temperature comes a lot more life however and this is the only dive site around the island where you can find large lobsters. Looking down over the drop off there was eight groupers swimming in out of ledges and in some of the cracks were several large moray eels. Coming around to the open sea side of the point we experienced strong currents so guides only recommend this dive site for experienced divers. Finning became a bit of a task when you popped up from the small dip on the rocks.
