The William Mannell was wrecked in 1947 after serving as a minesweeper in World War II. The depth of the wreck is 30 metres and the dive is done on slack only.

This is a fantastic wreck to dive! Lying slightly on its port side in 29-30m the wreck is intact and has much of its superstructure still present. The whole wreck rests on bright heavy sand and visibility can be very good.
The outside of the bow is ablaze with the colour from anemones and other filter feeders, as you can imagine as the wreck is current swept at times.
You can explore some of the interior areas, which are reasonably open (certainly the ones we explored) and it's a wreck that can easily be explored in one dive using Nitrox. Large lobster have also made it their home and these can be sometimes be seen free-roaming the upperworks of the wreck (but don't tell the lobster men!).
