Scuba Diving at Pulau Payar, Langkawi
Dive Site: Coral Garden
Location: Pulau Payar, Langkawi Coral
Description: Reef
Depth: 18 metres approx (60 feet)
Visibility: 5 - 8 metres (15 - 25 feet)
Rating: *****
Coral Garden is a popular dive site on the southwestern tip of Pulau Paya. It has a rocky terrain that is rich in soft coral. Amongst the boulders there are many reef fish such as lionfish, snappers, damselfish and fusiliers. Green moray eels, barracuda and black tip sharks are also a common sight. The only downside is that the plankton-rich waters mean that visibility can be quite low.
Reader Reviews:
Excellent range of aquatic life ranging from clownfish to sharks. A well preserved location. A snorkelling site is also near this dive site.

This is a boat dive. It's a superb dive site with huge numbers and variety of fish off the point and all the rocks are covered in soft lilac teddy bear coral. Look out for nudibranchs. The water at certain times can be green and full of material, thus reducing the vis. It's best to stick with a buddy. The shallower parts of the dive have many acropora.

It is a intersting place. You can dive and swim there and see various type of coral and fish.
