Dive Site: Paradise
Location: North Male Atoll
Description: Reef / drift
Depth: 31 metres + (102 feet)
Visibility: 15 metres (50 feet)
Rating: ****
This dive site is on the outside of the reef. The current was gentle, sweeping us past lots of small fish in the top ten metres of the reef. This was my first dive in the Maldives and I saw five turtles which made a great start to the holiday. A small white-tip shark was swimming in the current around 30 metres. The dive finished with a sighting of an eagle ray. An excellent dive!

I dived this site during the Maldives wet season but unsurprisingly the visiblity was amazing. Luckily for my buddy, he managed to touch the manta ray that was constantly circling us overhead in a playful manner. This is the best dive I have ever completed.

I dived this area in 2004 and still haven't found anywhere that comes near to it. Beautiful place, lovely reefs - it's a crying shame the water temp rise is killing large amounts off. Had my first up close shark dive.
