Scuba Diving in The Maldives
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Cocoa Corner
Location: South Male Atoll
Description: Reef / drift
Depth: 53 metres + (174 feet)
Visibility: 15 metres (50 feet)
Rating: *****
I dropped onto the outside of the reef into a ripping current. There is a plateau at 53 metres which I bounced down to. There were six turtles swimming together as I climbed back up the reef. Before drifting around the corner, I held onto the reef for a few seconds at about 12 metres. We drifted into a pack of twenty hunting white-tips and some big grey reef sharks. A young white-tip came over to us twice; it was amazing to sit in the sharks pack. At the end of the dive I saw a big hawk-billed turtle munching on the coral, a massive napoleon wrasse and lots of morays, including a great spotted one.
