Dive Site: Futagami Tugboat

Location: Near Tonoas, Chuuk Lagoon

Description: 625 ton tugboat

Length: 40 metres (130 feet)

Depth: Max depth 28 metres (92 feet), 15 metres (50 feet) to top of wreck

Visibility: 10 metres (30 feet)

The stern of the Futagami is in 10 metres and the bow in 30 metres. In the bridge there are twin telegraphs and wheel housing. I found a small hatch to the engine room in the port side gunnels, but silt out prevented me from going in. There were some bombs in tow cable room. I did a couple of circuits of the wreck as the viz was much poorer at this wreck site.
