The Micro Trader was damaged when it hit a reef and the repairs were unaffordable for the local government. For nearly two years it was moored, unused, slowly being dismantled for parts to keep its sister ship running. After is broke its moorings during a sever typhoon and got stuck on the shore the government decided to scuttle the ship, which it did in February 2004. It sank upright in 36m of water with its masts just 15m from the surface.
As we approached the dive site there were dolphins at the surface and they stayed with us for the first few minutes of our dive. As dropped to bow of wreck there were two grey reef sharks with a yellow pilot fish. The wreck itself is unsurprisingly sparse of coral and very intact. The wheelhouse, crows nest and masts are all there. An excellent dive!!
