Scuba Diving in Coron, Palawan, the Philippines
Dive Site: Skeleton Wreck
Location: Coron Island, Palawan, Philippines
Description: Wreck
Depth: 6 - 25 metres (20 - 80 feet)
Visibility: 10 metres (30 feet)
Rating: ***
The Skeleton Wreck is a tiny little wreck that can either be done as a dive or snorkelled on. The top of the wreck is in about 6m of water and it sits on a pretty reef. The wreck's name comes from the fact the ribs of the wreck are almost all that are left, giving it a skeletal appearance. It won't take long to cover the wreck, so if you are intending to have a long dive here, you will probably want to finish up on the reef. This makes a good spot to have lunch at and you can have a quick dip before going on elsewhere. It cost PHP100 per person to moor up here in Jan 2009.
