Scuba Diving in Marsa Alam, the Red Sea
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Sha'ab Sataya
Location: Fury Shoals, Marsa Alam
Description: Reef / drop off
Depth: 15 metres (45 feet)
Visibility: 30 metres (100 feet)
Rating: ****
This dive is on the west side of Dolphin Reef. I descended down the wall and luckily as first in the water I saw three big great barracuda which was a nice way to start off the first early dive of the day. The reef was prolific and full of the usual reef suspects and lots of soft and fire coral. I found few anemone fish on this dive, but they were all really cheeky and being defensive by swimming into my camera instead of holding that all important pose. I found a couple of large Red Sea groupers on the reef and the very typical anthias were everywhere at the reef top. A profusion of colour, great morphology and rock formations create the basis of this scenic dive covered with fish and coral.
