Scuba Diving in Safaga, the Red Sea
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: The Tobias
Location: Safaga Bay
Description: Reef dive and pinnacles
Depth: 15 metres (50 feet)
Visibility: 20 metres (65 feet)
Rating: ****
If you're looking for diving how Sharm used to be 5 years ago, Safaga's the place: beautiful corals, no boats. well maybe yours and another and that is literally it. The Tobias are several dive sites that are just off Safaga. Very easy dives with little or no current which normally comes from the north if at all. Easy diving for both novices and experienced divers alike. Why the Brits miss Safaga out, I'll never know. I did and I'm glad I now haven't. Get there before the rush. The Tobias have all the usual Red Sea suspects but in more abundance. These are dives that made the Egyptian Red Sea famous.
The Tobias dive sites can be subdivided into 4 seperate sites: Tubya Hamra, Tubya Kibeer, Tubya Shiwayya and Arba Erg.
