Has to be my favorite dive from Sharm, apart from Thomas Canyon . The traditional dive starts off with a cave at 5 metres which is actually a swim through coming out at a depth of 9ish metres. Stay in the cave for a while and look up at the sunlight streaming in from the crack above. We then drop down to 18 metres and head towards a small erg filled with glassfish, however the glassfish have all but disappeared when I did this dive in July 06 so there must be a very fat grouper nearabouts. We then have a choice, head out to the satellite reef to look for sharks (I have seen silkys here early morning), or we head towards the sandy alleyway where the site gets its name from. It did used to be called Fisherman's Bank but since fishing has been banned in the Marine Park its name changed to Jackfish Alley due to the large amounts of jacks that used to be there. Late in every year a whitetip can sometimes be seen sleeping on the sand. You should see barracuda, tuna and all the usual Red Sea suspects here. The dive finishes at the end of the sandy alley when most people are on 50 bar.
