One of the best places from Sharm for coral, there can be a slight current here sometimes but not much. Done as a drift dive your dive normally goes from north to south. The hard and soft corals here are as good as anywhere in the Deep South of the Egyptian Red Sea. Lookout for big grouper. When I last dived here in July we found a grouper trying to swallow a spotted pufferfish which looked like a giant football. Keep an eye in the blue as mantas and dolphins have been spotted here.

I've managed twice now to dive Ras Ghazlani from the Marsa Bereika side (by liveaboard). It was closed for many years, but it is by far one of the most (if not the most) healthiest and prolific coral sites in the northern Red Sea. It starts at around 5-8m in a colourful garden of fire coral and drops south westward to 25m+ (from the corner). The blue here is distinctly deep and with the reef/sand on your right, go into Marsa Bereika in a rough west direction. At 20m deep many coral heads tower several metres, covered in soft & hard corals and surrounded by glassfish and coral grouper. Some are even just covered in large sea fans and gorgonia. Care should be exercised as many of the coral heads are in close proximity to each other.
A gradual ascent across the coral heads along a rough northeast course, the coral towers are alive with hard yellow corals and covered in soft purple teddy bear corals. Masses of coral fish life inhabit and this goes on for a considerable amount of time before lower-lying gardens open out at 10-15m, where many lagoon and other rays rest. Eventually a wall of sorts appears and is time to ascend.
