Scuba Diving in Sudan

Dive Site: Angarosh

Location: Sudan

Description: Deep reef dive

Depth: 10 - 55 metres (30 - 180 feet)

Visibility: 25 metres (80 feet)

This is one of the deepest reef dives near Port Sudan. The top of the reef is at 10m and the deeper flat area is at 40 - 55 metres. We started the dive off by heading away from the reef into the blue to look for sharks. Our dive guide glimpsed a hammerhead and a tiger shark, but he was out a lot further for longer than the rest of us and diving on a rebreather. We did see an enormous shoal of barracuda making its way across the reef however. The swim back along the reef was picturesque with plenty of reef fish and some lovely coral.
