Pemba Scuba Diving
Dive Site: Three Sisters
Location: Panza Point, Pemba, Tanzania
Description: Reef / wall
Depth: 31 metres (102 feet)
Visibility: 25 - 30 metres (65 - 100 feet)
Rating: ****
The Three Sisters is so called because it is made up of three large pinnacles of rock coming up steeply from the sea floor at around 300m to 1.5m from the surface. The pinnacles are large so we only covered one of the pinnacles during the dive. Despite keeping a constant eye on the blue there was nothing big swimming by, but the reef made a great dive without any remarkable encounters. One of the most interesting parts of the dive was seeing triggerfish sleeping in small holes in the reef, something I had never seen before. I also saw a leaf fish, coral crabs, lots of lizardfish, a whole group of moray eels in holes in the reef complete with cleaner shrimps, a lot of clams and pristine coral.
