Diving Stoney Cove, England Inland Dive Site
Reader Reviews:
Dive Site: Metal Platform
Depth: 11 to 13 metres (39 feet)
Rating: See Stoney Cove overview
Location: From the Bus Stop entry take a 165 degree bearing and expect around a 1 - 2 minute swim to the Viscount Cockpit (from the Slipway take a 290 degree bearing and expect a 3 - 4 minute swim).
Once at the cockpit turn to a 285 degree bearing and from the rear right hand side of the cockpit an underwater slipway or what would have been a railway track leads down to 20 metres. It's pretty easy to spot this as the old railway sleepers are still visible. Heading on a 285 degree bearing will take you halfway down the rail track to a metal platform at 12 metres (and on to the BOP, Tower and 20m Hydro Box if you keep going).
History & Description: Any information on what this is (other than something made of metal) would be gratefully received, although I am sure it is not that exciting.
