Scuba Diving South Coast England, UK, Europe
Dive Site: Kimmeridge Bay
Location: Near Corfe Castle, Dorset
Description: Reef
Depth: 6 metres (20 feet)
Visibility: 3 metres (10 feet)
Rating: **
Access to Kimmeridge bay is along a narrow winding road where you will be required to pay a small fee at a toll. The entire bay is very shallow, and the diving is not that impressive, but this offers an alternative if weather blows the diving out at Swanage. It also makes a good site for practising tows and rescue skills. You will probably see kelp, anemones, seaweed and a few fish.
Actually this is one of the better sites for just snorkelling - proof that sometimes you can have more fun and see more without the burden of all that scuba equipment.

You can forget the bay for diving, snorkelling is good but just go down there late afternoon on a clear sunny summer's day and light a bbq, eat then sit back and watch the sun go down behind the cliffs. One of the most gorgeous sights in the world! There is also a Marine conservation shop there which is very interesting.
