Visibility: 6 - 8 metres (20 - 25 feet)

A lovely shore dive, good for all levels, also good for training dives. This dive was at dusk, so light enough for no torch but plenty of life including pollock, wrasse, lobster, crabs and pipefish. Cuttlefish were beginning to come out and enjoy being tickled on the forehead, flashing different colours as payment. This dive was done in May in a drysuit on a warm calm day. Towards the end of the dive (9.30pm) a torch would have been handy, but the slight dark meant that phosphorescence could be seen in the water.

I did this dive recently (Sept 06) in a semi-dry suit and although the visibility was pretty poor it was a really nice dive with a number of wrasse and anemones. It was ideal for me as I am only a novice diver.

I used to live down here and have watched the divers going off shoalstone beach regularly. Last time I was there about 3 weeks ago, I saw a seal swimming around the divers and along the breakwater. I must take my gear next time I visit.
