Dive Site: Budleigh Salterton
Location: Devon
Description: Reef
Depth: 7 metres (23 feet)
Visibility: 10 metres (30 feet)
Rating: ***
A good site for training and skills. Entry is from the beach, where there is a gradual slope down to 7-8m. There is a small reef of rocks and kelp several hundred yards from the shore that provide shelter for small marine life, although it is not necessarily that easy to find! Most of the interest in this dive is on the sandy bed, where there are numerous flatfish, crabs, shrimps and baby hermits.
Watch out for potential strong currents, and getting hooked by fishermen at dusk!

The entry point for Budleigh Salterton is very steep and hard work, and difficult if you catch the tide at the wrong time.

The entry point to Budleigh is anything but sandy, it is a mixture of large and small pebbles and is steep and hard-going especially if your already kitted up!
