Scuba Diving in Skye, Scotland
Dive Site: Idrigill Point
Location: North of Loch Bracadale, Isle of Skye, Scotland
Description: Wall dive
Depth: 25 metres (82 feet)
Visibility: 8 metres (25 feet)
Rating: ****
Idrigill Point is a steep wall dive that shelves all the way up, with the different cracks and smooth faces creating a variety of habitats for the abundance of creatures living here. There is an 'amphitheatre' that opens up as you head along the wall which is well worth a look. Before we entered the water we caught a fleeting glimpse of a small basking shark at the surface. The slightly choppy water made it difficult to follow and we soon lost track of it and there was no sign of it during the dive. We did see pollack, lemon sole, crawfish, crabs, starfish, jellyfish, jewel anemones and deadmen's fingers in a reef that would rival any you could find abroad.
