Dive Site: SS Kintyre
Location: Upper Clyde (55°53'15"N; 4°54'0"W)
Description: Wreck
Length: 40 metres (130 feet)
Depth: 30 to 50 metres (90 to 165 feet)
Visibility: 3 to 7 metres (10 to 23 feet)
Rating: ****
This wreck can be approached from the shore or by boat, although using a boat is easier. It lies on its keel with bow at the shallower depths and the stern in deeper water. A good torch is essential and it will show the vivid colours of the anemones that festoon the wreck. The plates have come off leaving the clipper style skeleton exposed around the bow. This is an excellent dive for a UK experienced diver.

The Kintyre was in a collision with the steamer Maori north of Wemyss bay. It sits on an even keel pointing twards the shore. The bow is in 27m and the stern is in 50m.
